God’s response to humanity’s brokenness was not to issue a decree from afar, but to enter human history directly. In Jesus, God takes on human flesh to draw close to human suffering and weakness. Mercy is recognized as God’s supreme attribute in relation to humanity. God’s almighty power is declared most fully through His infinite capacity to forgive, heal, and redeem.
