There is a quiet trap in relying on our beliefs to define us: conviction requires zero effort. You cannot feed a neighbor with your belief in charity. You cannot comfort a friend with your philosophy on empathy. A stack of high ideals means very little if the person carrying them is unkind to the cashier, unreliable to their family, or defensive when challenged. True character isn’t found in what we claim to value in the abstract, but in the choices we make when no one is keeping score.

There is a profound difference between the superficial “peace” the world offers—which is often just the temporary absence of conflict—and the peace that Christ speaks of. The latter is not a sedative; it is a restoration. And restoration of something deeply broken is rarely painless. True peace is costly because it demands our entire selves.

Returning to God isn’t a long, grueling trek where you have to earn your way back into His good graces. Grace doesn’t demand a background check or a waiting period. The moment you decide to turn around—the very second you reach out with a sincere heart—you are already there. Just take that one step. He’s already waiting for you.

When you approach prayer through the lens of your own imperfections, you make it about your capability rather than His capacity for grace. Stepping into prayer is a radical act of trust. It’s an acknowledgment that while our capacity to mess up might be large, the capacity for grace, mercy, and listening is infinitely larger.

Across the United States, lawmakers, parents, and courts continue to debate whether students who attend religious schools should have equal access to public tuition assistance programs. Supporters argue that governments should not exclude families from educational benefits simply because they choose faith-based schools.
