In our modern culture, self-preservation, self-care, and personal ambition are prized above almost everything else. To lose one’s life “for His sake” isn’t about destruction; it’s about redirection. It is the conscious choice to stop making oneself the center of the universe. When we pour ourselves out for something greater than our own immediate desires—whether in acts of kindness, devotion, or sacrifice—we discover a vibrant, meaningful existence that self-centeredness can never provide.
