This Lent and Holy Week

Brothers and Sisters

We begin to enter Holy Week with Palm Sunday this Sunday, at a time never experienced before within this country. Churches and family gatherings are on hold due to Coronavirus at the most holy time of the liturgical year. This Lent, more than ever in my life, brought suffering to the forefront, as we as Catholics examined our own relationships with God. This pandemic has inflicted suffering on a broad swath of people globally. Let’s not lose sight of the fact that there are people who were suffering before, and will continue to suffer after this pandemic is over. Next week, let’s “walk” the Via Dolorosa spiritually with Jesus, helping to bear the burden of all of those suffering in the world today, as Jesus did during His Passion bearing the burden of our sins.

We are all God’s children, and this time should remind us all of Matthew 25:40:

“Amen I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.”

God Bless

  1. As we walk with Jesus this Holy Week realize that He always stopped for Love. In all of His pain, He stopped for Veronica, who tenderly, yet fearlessly, took her vail and pressed it on His Face. She was loving Him as she wiped away the blood and sweat…He stopped for Love… Find the ways that you notice how He stopped for Love then and now.
